Betty Ann Jones Green

Dare, Va. – Betty Ann Green, 85 was called home to the Lord on Monday, February 14, 2022 at her home in Dare, VA.
Betty was born Betty Ann Jones on January 1, 1937 in Beckley, WV. As a teenager, her family moved to Orlando, FL. On December 20, 1957 she married Airman John Franklin Green from nearby Patrick AFB. They resided in Cocoa, FL. While there they had their first child John F. Green, Jr. They soon moved to her husband’s home in Dare, Va., where her second son Steven Bradley Green was born in Newport News. Betty worked as a homemaker as well as a florist and at T.C. Green Egg Company.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Jones Sr. and Eula Eliza Jones and her brothers, William Norvell Jones and John Henry Jones, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John Franklin “Peter” Green, Sr., of Dare, Va, two sons, John Franklin Green Jr. and his special his friend Karen Sparrow of Newport News, Va. and Steven Bradley Green and his wife Tina of Dare, Va.; two grandchildren, Amber Nicole Green Cantwell and her husband Brandon of Chester, Va. and A1C Benjamin Peter “Ben” Green of Minot AFB in Minot North Dakota and two great grandchildren, Tulsi Grace and Reagan Leanne Cantwell of Chester, Va.; nieces and nephews Shannon Jones, Casey Jones, Theresa Jones, Glenda Patterson, Jonathan Jones, Wallace Green, Jr. and Becky Speakman.
The family will receive friends on Monday February 21, 2022 at 10:00AM in Amory Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery, Dare, VA.
