Beth Compton Ayotte

Beth Compton Ayotte (59) of Yorktown, VA passed away on January 2, 2025.
She was born in Hampton, Va. to the late Margaret and Harold R. Compton. She resided in Yorktown for most of her life and graduated from York High School in 1983 and then attended Old Dominion University where she obtained a B.S. in Psychology. She enjoyed a diverse career at the Bionetics Corp, Basic Construction Co. and Riverside Health System.
In addition to her parents, Beth is preceded in death by husband Edward Brown and brother Roger Compton. She is survived by her daughter Caroline Brown of Oklahoma City, OK, son Travis Ayotte of Yorktown, VA, and her beloved husband of 21 years, Jamie Ayotte. Her greatest joy was being mother to Caroline and Travis and wife to Jamie.
Also left to cherish her memory are brothers, Gary Compton and Kevin Compton (Carol) along with many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, and friends she loved as family.
Beth was known for her lightning quick wit and a sense of humor that never failed to make friends out of perfect strangers. She had an impeccable memory and was historian for her close group of friends and family and could be counted on to recall the good times in the past. Her compassion and empathy for others produced lasting friendships with people across the globe. Beth lived her life engaged with others and made everyone she encountered feel at home with her generosity of spirit. She was loved and will be dearly missed
The family will receive friends at the residence on Sunday, January 5 from 1-3 PM.
