Benjamin “David” Taylor

Benjamin “David” Taylor, 87, of Yorktown, Virginia, passed away peacefully Monday, February 16th, 2026, at home with family. He was born February 23rd, 1938 in Roanoke, Alabama, a son of the late Emmett Taylor and Lillian Taylor (Dunn). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Elizabeth Atkins (Taylor) and Kirk Taylor. David was married September 9th, 1967 to Joan Lancor, who survives. Also surviving are two sisters Mary Berta Brown (Taylor) and Sarah O’Conor (Taylor); three children, David Taylor, Catherine Taylor, and Laura Taylor; and three grandchildren, Sarah Young, Davalyn Taylor, and Daniel Taylor. David proudly served his country in the United States Army retiring as a Colonel after 30 years of service. In his retirement, he was a Master Gardener and member of many horticultural groups and societies. The family will hold a private gathering and his inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
