Barbara Anne Murphy

Yorktown, Va. – Barbara Anne Murphy, 94, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022.
Barbara was a native of Boston, Massachusetts and a resident of Yorktown since 1968. Barbara was very active in the Women’s Club and St Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Barbara was very active in her children’s swimming as they grew up. She was very social and loved to entertain and loved playing bridge. Barbara had a very quick wit and never met a stranger. She was very proud of all her children and even more of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Francis Joseph Murphy and her sisters Betty Brown and Dottie Duffey. Barbara is survived by her sister Jeannie Dunn her children, Anne Marie Fitch (Don), Kathleen Ellen Walters (Steve), John Joseph Murphy (Brenda), Thomas Francis Murphy (Holly) and Daniel James Murphy (Betsy) grandchildren, Holli Murphy Reese, Justin Thomas Murphy, Erin Nicole Wood, Samantha Lee Ealey, Katie Marie Norris, Megan Grace Walters, Kara Leigh Murphy, Lauren Murphy Nardi and Lindsey Murphy Schulz great grandchildren, Parker Grayson Locke, Jake Bryan Wood, Liam Sterling Ealey, Landon Bryce Ealey, Harper Anne Ealey and Camden Murphy Schulz.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Yorktown, Va. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium with a reception following.
