Alice Mary Combs Jackson
Alice Mary Combs Jackson, born on November 30, 1957, in Flint, Michigan, peacefully passed away June 14, 2024. She was born to Burlin Combs and Donna Horton Fischer. Alice spent her formative years at the Kentucky State School for the Deaf in Danville, KY, from age 6 to 17.
In 1978, Alice proudly represented Kentucky as Miss Deaf Kentucky at the Miss Deaf America pageant held in New York. Her achievements extended into her professional life, where she worked diligently as a data entry clerk for notable organizations including the IRS, Coca-Cola, and UPS.
Despite her professional successes, Alice found her greatest joy in raising her two beloved children in Houston, Texas. Later in life, she embraced the role of a military dependent, traveling across the United States alongside her daughter and son-in-law.
Alice is survived by her mother, Donna Horton Fischer, and her sisters Kim Carbonati (Harry Carbonati) and Toni Mueller (Bill Mueller). She leaves behind her loving children, Jennifer Eisenach (Col. David Eisenach) and James Jackson (Lena Jackson), as well as her cherished grandchildren, Abigail Jackson, Peyton Eisenach, Joshua Jackson, and Isiah Jackson.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Ricky Combs, William Combs, and sister Michelle Fischer, along with her step-father, Jim Fischer, who lovingly raised her, and her former husband, Ben Jackson.
Alice will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, unwavering dedication to her family, and her deep love for animals, particularly the family dogs she cared for until her final days. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
