Linda Rogers Gootee

Linda Rogers Gootee, age 83, peacefully passed away on September 26, 2026.

She was born in Newport News, VA, on April 17, 1943, the first child of the late Dal K. Rogers and Ruby O. Rogers Willis. Linda graduated with honors from Newport News High School in 1961.

Linda worked for many years in the telecom and customer service fields and retired from both Bell Atlantic (now Verizon) and The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. She loved animals, reading, working with indoor and outdoor plants, baking, decorating, and visiting the mountains of Virginia.

Linda is predeceased by her husband Franklyn L. Gootee, her brother Kenneth E. Rogers, and her brother David L. Rogers. She is survived by her nieces, Cathy J. Rogers and Amy Dunlap, her nephew, Jeffrey R. Rogers, her sister-in-law, Joy W. Rogers, and several grandnieces and nephews.

Per Linda’s wishes, no visitation or services are planned, and the burial will be private.
