Priscilla Woodson Rose, 83, went to be with Jesus on September 7, 2026. She was born on March 7, 1943, in Roanoke, Virginia, to Joe and Zelda Woodson.
Priscilla was preceded in death by her beloved son, Doug Rose, and her parents, Joe and Zelda Woodson.
She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Idol and husband, Dennis, and Christy Echols and husband, Doug; and daughter-in-law Kim Rose. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Jo Stickrod and Sandra Grindstaff and husband, Larry.
She was lovingly known as Nana to her grandchildren, Morgan Idol, Logan Idol and wife, Allie, Marissa Idol, Ashley Rose, Aaron Rose, Kayla Mazur and husband, Joe, and Alyssa Guthinger and husband, D.J. She also has two great-granddaughters, Kinsley and Ashlyn Guthinger, who brought great joy to her life.
Priscilla is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, along with extended family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by her love, kindness, and friendship.
Priscilla was a devoted to Jesus Christ, and her faith was the foundation for her life. For almost 50 years, she was a faithful member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, Virginia, where she worshiped, served, and formed many treasured friendships. In more recent years, she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Yorktown VA, continuing her lifelong commitment to Christ and His church. Her family rejoices in knowing that the faith she held throughout her life has now become sight and that she is with her Lord and Savior.
Priscilla lived a life of remarkable dedication in her career. She worked for 41 years at Fort Lee, where she excelled as a Systems Accountant. She was known for her professionalism and commitment to her work and was greatly admired by her coworkers. Over the years, she developed lasting relationships and earned the respect of those who had the privilege of working alongside her.
Priscilla also knew how to enjoy life. She had a creative side and especially loved making beautiful wreaths, bows and flower arrangements. And anyone who knew Priscilla knew that she loved to shop, whether she was searching for just the right item or simply enjoying a day out.
Over the years, Priscilla enjoyed numerous family trips to the beach, where she made many special memories. She loved going to Disney World and in recent years enjoyed trips to visit her daughter and family in Florida.

Above all, Priscilla treasured her family. She was a devoted mother and sister, but one of the names that meant the most to her was simply “Nana” —a name that represented the special love and bond she shared with each of her grandchildren. Being Nana brought tremendous joy to her life, and the love and memories, she shared with them will always be treasured.
While her family grieves her passing, they do so with thankful hearts for the years God gave them with her and the confident hope that comes through Jesus Christ. The love she gave, the faith she lived, and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved Priscilla.
A celebration of life service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, 1004 Yorktown Rd, Yorktown, Virginia at 11:00 am on Friday, September 11, 2026. A visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 am. A graveside service will be at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Rd, Prince George, VA at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
