Norman Curtis Rush, Sr.

Tuesday morning, Norman transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home. He left on a special day, August 4, 2026 — which was his mother’s birthday and the 48th anniversary of his father’s passing.
On September 26, 1939, Norman Curtis Rush Sr. was born to Benjamin Milo Rush Sr. and Eileen Mills Rush. A lifelong resident of Seaford, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Nancy Westcott Rush. He is survived by his three children, Norman Jr. (Becky), Dale (Ava), and Ramona (Gordon); five grandchildren, Trae (Brooke), Ryan, Amanda (Jeremiah), Justin, and Matthew; three great-grandchildren, Noah, Emma, and Annabelle; devoted brother, Ben (Florence); brother-in-law, Wayne Westcott; as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Nancy and Norman’s ministry spanned 50 years, including evangelism, pastoring, jail and prison ministry, and mission work to Native Americans. Since Nancy’s passing, his ministry expanded to include the First Impressions Ministry at his home church, WOW Church, which he stated was the greatest joy in his life. One of his greatest achievements in life was the privilege of leading countless others to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Norman was a proud veteran of the United States Army, and he continued his service to the country through civil service at the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station, where he retired in 1985.
Without a doubt, it can be said that through his partnership with Nancy, “We made a difference.”
The family is deeply grateful to the loving neighbors, church family, and friends who expressed their care through their many expressions of love.
The family will receive friends at the World Outreach Worship Center in Newport News on Monday August 10, 2026 from 1:00-2:00 PM where a life celebration will be held at 2:30 PM. The burial will follow at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Seaford.
