Carolyn Lee Fox Upton


Carolyn Lee Fox Upton was born on October 9, 1931. She, along with her twin sister Rosalyn, were born in the upstairs bedroom of their family home in Seaford.
Carolyn grew up in a Christian home in Hornsbyville. As a teenager she learned to play the piano because her church needed a pianist. Over the course of her lifetime she continued to play the piano for Hornsbyville Baptist until she was in her 80’s.
She met her husband, Junie, at a store in Hornsbyville. They were married in 1951.
Carolyn and Junie has two (2) daughters, Debbie and Nancy.
She had various jobs in her lifetime. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, being outside, sitting outside on her back yard porch at her home on the hill in Seaford. She loved her grandchildren and was an important part of their lives.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Lena Fox, eleven brothers and sisters, Clifton, Irvin, Phillip, Roland, Gordon, Clyde, Earl, William, Ross Fox, sister Susie Hopkins, and twin sister Rosalyn Holt, and husband Junie Howard Upton.
She leaves behind daughters Debra Pilkington (Roy), Nancy Springer (Joe), bonus daughter Kamantha Hujber (Eddie), Grandchildren Diana Williams (Eric), Michael Pilkington (Jomel), Cole Gregory, Joshua Springer (Heather). Great Grandchildren John Robert Winall and Emma Jean Williams. Great, great Grandchildren Carson Winall and Liliana Rose Winall, and many nieces and nephews.
Special thank you to her caregivers Shane Hogge, Maya Miller, Cheryl Moore and Beth Jarrells, and to her church family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hornsbyville Baptist Church Building Fund.
Graveside service at 1:00pm Friday, April 10, 2026 at Peninsula Memorial Park. Family will receive friends following the service at Hornsbyville Baptist Church.
