Marjorie C. Parker


Marjorie C. Parker, 89, of Seaford, Virginia passed away on March 16, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born in 1936 and grew up in Chelan, Washington.
Marjorie pursued a career as a Registered Nurse at Hampton General Hospital (Pediatrics) and later Sentara Care Plex until retirement.
Marjorie was married to John W. Parker, Jr. in 1962 and they shared 63 years of memories and adventures. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Marjorie was affectionally called “Mommer” by her grandchildren. She happily chaperoned or attended many field trips, band excursions, concerts, scouting and sporting events. In her older years, she could be found following Auburn football and basketball games, NASCAR, and the K.C. Chiefs. She loved her cats, flowers, word searches, and bird watching.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, John W. Parker, Jr, her daughters Elizabeth Leatherwood (Chris), Leigh-Ann Parker and her grandchildren Zachary Leatherwood (Stephanie), Austin Leatherwood (Joanna), Chad Marx, Haley Smalley (Colter). She also survived by a number of nieces and nephews that were important to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Loretta Crill, and sisters (Jean and Shirley) and her brother Gerald.
A memorial service will be held at Amory Funeral Home at 410 Grafton Drive, Grafton, Virginia, on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 3:00 p.m.
