Sherry Lyn Lemay-Williams

Sherry Lyn Lemay-Williams was born to Mildred C. Lemay and the late William C. Lemay on January 3, 1960. She departed this earth and into God’s arms on December 14, 2025.
She leaves behind her husband of 45 years, Leon Williams; their daughters, Michelle Williams (Trenton) and Crystal Ellis (Robert); and their seven grandchildren, Evan, Mi’Kel, Myles, Alyssa, Joe’l, Riley, and Romelo. Sherry also leaves behind her mother, her sisters, Dianne Nixon and Josette LeMay, her brother, Mark LeMay, and a host of other relatives. She is preceded in death by her brother, Kevin Joyner, Sr.
Sherry was born and raised in Bristol, Pennsylvania, but made Yorktown, Virginia, her home. She had a smile that could brighten any day and any mood. She had a bubbly attitude and boisterous laugh.
At the tender age of 14, she met the man who would become her husband, Leon Williams. Together, they built a beautiful life with their two daughters, Michelle and Crystal. Sherry was devoted to her husband and his military career, moving wherever the US Air Force sent them. While she worked as a medical laboratory technician, she always made time for her family by cooking, cleaning, hemming and sewing clothes, going on school field trips, and helping with classroom events.
Ever since she was a child, Sherry has loved the Lord with all her heart. She loved to sing and make a joyful noise unto the Lord. She made sure to raise her girls in the church and take her grandchildren to church and Bible study. She was active in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) for many years. She’d been in various BSF groups and participated in numerous capacities. Most recently, she was teaching in the children’s area of BSF.
Calvary Chapel Newport News has been her church home for 13 years. Whether it was singing in the choir, serving in the audio/visual ministry, serving in Vacation Bible School, or in other church events, Sherry was well-loved by her church family.
Beautiful inside and out, Sherry knew someone everywhere she went. She could talk to anyone and had a great ear for listening. Sherry had an avid love of camping, exercising, and shopping at Costco and Trader Joe’s. No matter where Sherry traveled, she could make a friend and could surely find a Costco.
There will never be enough words to fully capture the woman Sherry was to all who loved her. She will be missed by so many, but her memory and love will live on in her loved ones.
A celebration of life service will be held in Calvary Chapel , Newport News, VA. on Monday December 22, 2025 at Noon. The family will receive friends starting at 11:00 AM. For full obituary go to amoryfuneralhome.com
