Linda Louis Baran O’Dell

Yorktown, Va. – Linda Louis Baran O’Dell entered into eternal life on November 19, 2025 after a long battle with dementia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Demeter and Helen Baran, her brother Thomas and her husband William (Bill) O’Dell.
Linda was many things to many different people. A devoted wife to Bill, a loving sister and friend tp Patricia (Patti) Komornik and her husband, Frank, and to her brother Tommy. She was the adored, fun loving aunt to Denis Komornik, Matthew Komornik, Pamela Baran, Debra Baran Mosley and Karen Komornik O’Hara. She was mom to Bill O’Dell, Jr., Tami Hankins, Keith O’Dell and Mike O’Dell. To her nine grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren she was Grandma or Foofie. To her extended family and friends she was just either Linda or one of her sweet, funny nicknames.
Linda Grew up in Whitestone, NY and after high school attended the Nancy Taylor Secretarial School. She worked for several law firms in NYC until she met Bill in Germany. While they were stationed overseas she worked for the military. Back in the States she was employed by Avon Industries before returning to work for the Army. Linda had a successful career and retired as a Contract Specialist.
An active member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Yorktown, Va. Linda Served as head Emergency Assistance, as a lead Eucharistic Minister, sang in the adult choir and was an Officer in the Knight of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.
Linda has a sparkling personality that lit up a room. She had a smile everyone looked forward to, a hug when you needed it most and was a c0-conspirator and sometimes instigator of mischief (much to Bill’s dismay).
She and Bill were married in 1972, Linda was always his “bride” and he was her “Billy”. They were each others other half. A beautiful love story, she was the melody and lyrics and he her constant star.
Though we are sad at her leaving us, we are happy they are together again. May they be dancing together in heaven or sailing on the clouds with cool breeze and smile on your face.
Please remember Linda with a kiss on the breeze and smile on your face.
Dearest Linda, may you rest in the light and love of Christ.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 11:00 AM in St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Yorktown, Va. Arrangements by Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, Va.
