

Vernon Lee Stevens

Yorktown, Va. – Vernon Lee Stevens (75) passed away Monday, August 11th, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. Vernon was born in West Virginia and moved to the Hampton Roads at an early age. He later on started his family in Yorktown, VA.
He married the love of his life, Paula Stevens. He was a dedicated man who proudly worked at AMOCO Oil Refinery and did multiple jobs on the side. Working on older cars was his favorite hobby. He loved fishing and hunting, arm wrestling, and was an avid collector of antiques, cars, and junk.
He leaves to cherish his memories with his daughter and her husband, Angela and David Drees, his grandchildren, Christopher (Bugs), Austin and his wife Samantha, Crystal and Aubrey, his great grandchildren, Payton, Bryson, Bowen and Paul, and Nova. He is also survived by his aunt, Corena Lusk, his brothers, Darrell and his wife, Sue, Lloyd, his sisters, Barbara and Lorie (Loydette), and his nieces and nephews, Little Darrell, Anthony, Jimmy, Shannon, and Triva along with multiple great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday August 20, 2025 in Providence United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News, VA. Arrangements by Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, VA.
