Anna W. Hogge

Yorktown, Va. Anna W. Hogge, 87, died on August 13, 2024. She was born in Knott County, Kentucky, and has been a resident of Newport News and Yorktown since March 1953. She was a member of Dandy Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hogge worked as a secretary at Fort Eustis for 38 years (37 of those years were at the Aviation Applied Technology Directorate). After a retirement of 11 years and the loss of her husband, Thomas J. Hogge, she worked for 17 years part-time as a legal secretary for the Law Offices of Bradley E. Berrane in Grafton.
She is survived by two granddaughters, Jessica Ann Dawson (Justin) and Michelle Burnette, great-grandchildren Chloe and Savannah Dawson, and Shelby Burnette. Also surviving are brothers Jimmy Waddles, Danny Waddles and Jackie Waddles, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Thomas J. Hogge, son, Barry T. Hogge, sister, Ruby Merritt, and parents, Lloyd and Genova Waddles.
Funeral services are to be held at 2:00pm on Friday, August 23, 2024, in Amory Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends will meet one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to York Fire and Rescue.
