Sidney “Sid” Charles Keene

Sid was born in 1943 in Newport News, VA and passed away on February 27, 2024. He attended Warwick High School and TNCC where he earned an associate degree in drafting and design. He was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war and served as a Military Policeman. He worked at Siemens Automotive as a draftsman and machinist from 1979 until he retired in 2005. His past hobbies included sailing, beekeeping, wood and metal working, hunting and gardening.
He developed Lewy Body Dementia in 2023 and fought a short but courageous battle with the disease. It robbed him of his mind and body within 1 year.
He is survived by his wife Karen of Yorktown, son Jason and his wife Katie of Newport News, and granddaughters Pearl and Lillian Keene.
There will be a visitation at Amory Funeral Home at 1pm on Tuesday March 5, 2024. Funeral will follow at 2 pm and burial will be at Peninsula Memorial Park at 3 pm. Arrangements by Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, Va.
