Sally Currin
Yorktown, Va. – Sally Currin, 72, passed on Tuesday, May 23rd after a courageous battle against cancer.
Sally will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Tammy Rich (Andrew); her brother Thom Myers; nephews: Bryan Myers (Katie) and John Myers (Erika); great granddaughter Karsyn Ober-Cooke, Karsyn’s mother Kristyn Ober; and her favorite cousin Brooke McGuire.
She was predeceased by her husband of 16 years, Robert Currin; grandson, Taylor Cooke; brother, Laurance O. Myers; and her parents: Laurance and Molly Myers. In addition to her family, Sally was blessed with many lifelong friends who were steadfast in their love and support during her battle against cancer.
Sally found her passion early and spent many years pursuing it while working for The Daily Press. Known to many as “Mustang Sally,” she retired as the first female Sales Manager in the Daily Press Advertising Department. Having begun as a sales rep, she was involved in many successful projects at the Daily Press including the annual Parade of Homes, Remodelers, and Real Estate products. She spent what free time she had enjoying the sun, sand and waves in Nags Head, NC.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Warwick Yacht Club in Newport News on Wednesday, June 28th at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
