Gary Clinton Kiser

Newport News – Gary Clinton Kiser, 66, passed away May 9, 2023. He was born in Winston Salem, NC but was a lifelong Peninsula resident.
He was the sole proprietor of “Kiser Maintenance Service”, a HVAC business which served the Peninsula with excellence. From the age of 12, his passion was playing the guitar. He formed the band “Stakeout” in the 90’s and his exceptionally smooth guitar playing led a journalist to compare him to Eric Clapton. Gary was preceded in death by his father Gorrell Clinton Kiser, and mother Mable Kiser Rivera. He is survived by his two daughters Jennifer & Stephanie(son-in-law Steve Williams), son James Cropley, two grandsons Kamrin & Seth, granddaughter Emily, sister Vickie Shields(son Jeff Turlington), and lifelong partner Marcy Blair(son Justin and wife Serina). He will be cremated, and a small gathering for family and friends is TBD. If you wish to remember Gary, please donate to any animal shelter, as he loved all animals.
