With hearts full of gratitude and sorry, we celebrate the life of Susan Francis Cundiff who departed this life on Thursday, February, 10, 2022.
Sue was Born on April 5, 1938 in Lynchburg, Virginia to the late E.D. (Buck) and Doris M. Hook. She retired from the Newport News District Court, Criminal Division after 27 years of service.
Sue was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church, and volunteered as a money counter, in the church Bookshop and in the knitting ministry. She was actively involved in the York County Senior Center and enjoyed the fellowship she shared with the many friends she had made through the years. Above all, Sue was known to her neighbors as one whose door was always open and a heart ready to
help. Her warm and caring nature made her easy to love.
Sue is survived by her sister, Sandra H. Leavitt, two nephews, Kevin Leavitt, Eric Leavitt (Lisa), and four great nieces and nephews, Hannah Carabin, (Calvin), Brodie Leavitt, Ashley Leavitt and Aimee Leavitt. Sue was loved and cherished by all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Sue’s life will be held at on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Grace Episcopal Church, Yorktown, Virginia. The Reverend Seldon Walker will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 123 Yorktown, Virginia 23690
