Barbara Ann Johnson Sykes

Seaford, Va – Barbara Ann Johnson Sykes went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 16, 2020 at 79 years old. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was proceeded in death by her parents Nick and Louise Johnson and her brother James Sledge. She is survived by her high school sweetheart/husband of 63 years, DB Sykes Sr, her children, David Sykes Jr, Amanda Sykes, Al Sykes (Kim), Brian Sykes, grandchildren Ethan Sykes (Alice), Nick Sykes (Bea), Heather Sykes, Elton Sykes (Jermarion) and her great granddaughter Mia. Barbara was born in Momeyer, NC, and resided in Seaford, VA for the past 55 years. There will be a celebration of Barbara’s life on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 1:00pm at Yorktown Baptist Church in Yorktown, VA. Pastor Mark Boyd will be officiating the service. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, all guests will be required to wear a face mask and maintain social distancing. The service will also be live streamed on Facebook. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting all monetary donations be sent to Yorktown Baptist Church at 237 Nelson Street Yorktown, VA 23690 in memory of Barbara Sykes.
