Sean H. Schroeder

With great sadness but a thankful heart for the past 20 years, the family of Sean Schroeder mourns his death on Sunday, July 16, 2017. Sean was a graduate of Warwick River Christian School and Denbigh High School. Sean was a person with the kindest heart and delightful sense of humor. A natural athlete, he was active in many sports throughout his life with soccer, wrestling and rugby. He loved to be active and was a daredevil. There was never a tree he did not like to climb and he climbed rock walls with joy and abandon and won a medal for the fastest rock wall climb aboard the Royal Caribbean ship during his grandparents 50th anniversary cruise.
He was the beloved son of Mary Lynn and Michael Janis of Newport News and Max and Cheryl Schroeder of New Orleans, LA. He is also survived by his brothers, George David Schroeder and Jack Michael Janis, his step sister and brother, Ashley and Cory Bianchini, grandparents, David and Lynn Grimsley of Yorktown, Maria Janis of Newport News and Margater and Sidney Fields of Slidell, LA. He was predeceased by his beloved grandfather Jack Janis, Jr. who passed away July 6, 2017.
He is also survived by a large number of uncles, aunts and cousins, and he was cherished and will be missed by his girlfriend, Aimee Vandenheede.
Amory Funeral Home in Yorktown is in charge of the arrangements. Services will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, Yorktown, VA on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. He will be interred at Grace Church cemetery. A reception in the Parish Hall will follow the services. Memorial donations may be made to the Sean Schroeder Memorial Fund c/o Grace Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 123, Yorktown, VA 23692.
