M. Eddie Edmondson

M. Eddie Edmondson, 97, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Eddie was born and raised in Bath, NC and was a barber in the Yorktown community for more than 60 years. He was a WWII Navy veteran (Seabee) and was involved in the invasion of Okinawa. He was an avid golfer, and loved to travel and spend time with his family, and was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and the Masons (Yorktown Lodge).
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Frances M. Edmondson; 2 sons, Rodney Edmondson and his wife Judy, Brian Edmondson and his wife Wendy and a daughter Amy Greenwood and her husband Jim and daughter-in-law Jan Edmondson. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Laurel, Michael, Meredith, Caitlin, Elizabeth, Matthew, Brooke and Christie and 6 great-grandchildren, Haylee, Madelyn, Scarlett, Morgen, Dennis and Dustin. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Edmondson.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 10, at Zion United Methodist Church in Seaford. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A reception will be held in the church social hall following the service. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, March 9, at Amory Funeral Home, Grafton.
