Linda Vassar Westcott

Linda Vassar Westcott, 69, passed away on Mother’s Day Sunday, May 13, 2018.

Linda was a native of Lynchburg, VA and was a Peninsula resident since 1952. Linda was a 1967 graduate of Warwick High School. She was employed with Denbigh Christian Academy for 23 years and retired in December of 2012.
Linda was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and a faithful servant of God. She was a lifelong member of Stevens Memorial Baptist Church, and served the church in many roles throughout the years. She spent her final days in peace at home, in the loving care of her family.
Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Reynolds Vassar and her father, James Angus Vassar, her brother, Mark Vassar and sister Sherry Moody.
She will be greatly missed and always remembered by her loving husband of 48 years, Wayne Westcott; her son Chris Westcott (Lily) of Blacksburg, VA; her daughter Dana Napier (Joshua) of Yorktown; her brother James Vassar of Newport News; her sisters Donna Livingston of Newport News, Betty Duer (Bill) of Houston, TX, Pat Bradshaw (Steve) of Newport News, Deborah Vassar of Newport News and Terri Kolekofski (Gene) of Williamsburg; and her grandchildren Clara, James, Neela, Maria, Quinn and Cullen.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, May 18 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at Steven’s Memorial Baptist Church, 224 Richneck Road, Newport News, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.
