Benjamin Martin Riggins

Benjamin Martin Riggins, 87, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Ben was a native and lifelong York County resident, 1951 graduate from Poquoson High School, retired as a welder in 1993 then worked the water for over 10 years.
Lovingly referred to as the “Mayor of Seaford”, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was always with his trusty sidekick “Nickel”.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Myrtle Arnder Riggins, a son George Arnder, and daughter Juanita Keatts. Survivors include: three daughters, Darlene Athey (Tommy) of Seaford, Kathy Crisp (Steve) of Seaford, and Pamela Platel of Arizona, two sons, Virgil Riggins of Seaford and Robert Arnder (Bob) of Mexico, 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 26, 2018 in Zion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Edwin Clever and Rev. David Magruder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, in Amory Funeral Home.
